There are many factors to take into consideration when assessing what a nanny should be paid. For example, her qualifications and experience, whether she lives in your home with you or comes to your home daily, whether she is part time or full time, the number of hours she works a week and how much responsibility she will be required to take on.
When deciding a wage with a nanny, assume the figures you negotiate to be net (i.e. exclusive) of tax and National Insurance (these are your responsibility to pay). Hattie’s is able to provide you with information of specialist nanny accountancy and payroll services if required.
Note also that the hourly rates of part time staff are usually higher than those employed full time.
